It seems like a long time since the last Under The Skin, the internet’s premier roundup of new horror trailers. We may not be as prolific as we once were, but we’re just as comprehensive, as you can see from the bumper crop below. We kick off with a remake – Gil Keenan’s update of Tobe Hooper’s POLTERGEIST. It’s never easy reimagining a classic, and they don’t come much more beloved than POLTERGEIST. Good luck, Gil. ‘Legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi (producer) reimagines and contemporizes the classic tale about a family whose suburban home is invaded by angry spirits. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and take the youngest daughter, the family must come together to rescue her.’

CRIMSON PEAK: ‘When her heart is stolen by a seductive stranger, a young woman is swept away to a house atop a mountain of blood-red clay: a place filled with secrets that will haunt her forever. Between desire and darkness, between mystery and madness, lies the truth behind Crimson Peak.’

THE FIANCÉ: ‘The Fiancé - 2015 feature film written and directed by Mark Allen Michaels and starring Carrie Keagan, Dallas Veldez, Curt Lambert, and Douglas Tait. When a beautiful bride-to-be is bitten by Bigfoot, she becomes a brutal force of nature hellbent on breaking her engagement… and her fiancé!’

CREATURE FEATURE: ‘Creature Feature is five interwoven tales of terror that occur one foggy Halloween night in Georgia. A babysitter learns a new appreciation for fine art and hard lesson about the consequences of being irresponsible...and naughty!; a group of college kids stumble on the mother of all Scarecrows; two teenagers are forced to steal from the wrong cantankerous old hermit who has been known to occasionally howl at the moon; a murdered father comes back for vengeance against his gold-digging wife and traitorous children; and all of this Halloween fun is made possible by a London Gentleman known as..."Jack"’

ROADSIDE: ‘Dan and Mindy Summers are on a road trip along a desolate mountain highway when Dan is forced to exit the SUV to remove a dead tree blocking their path. Before he can get back inside, he and Mindy find themselves held hostage on the side of the road, trapped in their car by a mysterious, unseen gunman. They must fight for their lives in a sadistic game of cat and mouse set against a backdrop of numbing cold, pitch darkness, and raw terror. Dripping with suspense until the very last frame, Roadside offers massive thrills and a unique concept reminiscent of the films of Hitchcock.’

EJECTA: ‘A horrific alien invasion forces two men to fight for their lives during one universe-altering night of terror. This nerve-shredding film stars Julian Richings (Cube, X-Men: The Last Stand) in a tour-de-force performance as William Cassidy, a man who, following decades of frightening extraterrestrial encounters, is now trapped in a living hell of fear and paranoia. On the evening of a massive solar flare, Cassidy invites paranormal researcher Joe Sullivan (Adam Seybold) to his secluded home in the woods. What occurs there will change both men—and possibly the Earth—forever.’

AUTEUR: ‘In this horror thriller directed by Cameron Romero and starring Tom Sizemore, a naive documentarian sets out to find a legendary horror director who mysteriously disappeared before the release of his highly anticipated masterpiece. As the filmmaker uncovers the story through various interviews, he learns that the truth is much more deadly than he ever imagined.’

LESS THAN A WHISPER: ‘Robert and Taylor Usher expect to be happy in their new house in Northridge, California where years ago, murder and mutilations destroyed the former residents. It doesn't matter to the Ushers, until those who caused the deaths come back, those that live in the earth, those that need, those that are not human. The Ushers new house stands between them and what they must have.’

INTRUSION: ‘Holly Jensen leads an overly dramatic life. It's one that is spent trying to avoid her problems and forget the past. Best friend Kali has the perfect solution to making Holly feel better. It's a game called "Wrong Number". However, the man on the other end finds the joke less than funny and decides to play a game of his own. A game where Holly will become the pawn. It's a character-driven thriller where everything has consequences and something as beautiful as a rose can be turned into any woman's, worst nightmare. Written by Craig Everett Earl and Directed by Dru Pfeiffer. Intrusion stars Katie Stewart, Lee Haycraft and Teresa Lawrence II.’

BACKCOUNTRY: ‘In this terrifying and critically-acclaimed thriller, a young couple’s romantic camping trip becomes a tale of survival as they face the darkest side of nature: a man-eating bear.’

IT CAME FROM THE DESERT:

LOST RIVER: ‘"Lost River" is a dark fairy tale about love, family and the fight for survival in the face of danger. In the virtually abandoned city of Lost River, Billy (Christina Hendricks), a single mother of two, is led into a macabre underworld in her quest to save her childhood home and hold her family together. Her teenage son Bones (Iain De Casestecker) discovers a mystery about the origins of Lost River that triggers his curiosity and sets into motion an unexpected journey that will test his limits and the limits of those he loves.’

DIGGING UP THE MARROW:

TURBO KID: ‘In a post-apocalyptic future a young solitary scavenger obsessed with comic books must face his fears and become a reluctant hero when he meets a mysterious girl. From horror masterminds Ant Timpson (The ABCs Of Death 1 & 2, Housebound) and Jason Eisener (Hobo With A Shotgun).’

VANish: ‘Hoping to score a hefty ransom, three amateur thugs kidnap Emma Rodriguez from the home of her father, drug kingpin Carlos Rodriguez, and force her to record a video of herself pleading for her life. But what they don’t know is that the murderous blood that made Carlos a name to fear in the underworld also runs through Emma’s veins. As time ticks away and the pressure mounts, the kidnappers find themselves in more and more danger from the police, hitmen, and crime bosses, and must find a way to keep their plan in order before all hell breaks loose.’

This one’s not for those of you at work, as the trailer for GODDESS OF LOVE is a bit naughty: ‘A mentally unstable woman begins a volatile descent into madness when she suspects her lover has left her for another woman.’

And finally... ALIEN TAMPON (??!)
