Freaky Friday

Ft 13

Isn’t it always the way? You spend years waiting for a maniac to come along and slaughter you and all your friends, then two come along at once! Regular readers may recall our enthusiasm for upcoming online multiplayer murder simulation “Summer Camp: Slasher vol 1”, where players are tasked with surviving an’ 80s horror film homage while one lucky player attempts to slice and dice them. The game plays out in a virtual Camp Crystal lake (in all but name) and we’re promised nods to all our favourite genre tropes (and kills). As if that wasn’t enough, there’s another game in development with the exact same pitch, only this one has an official licence and the likeness of a certain iconic movie maniac legend. That’s rights, folks, there’s now an official Friday The 13th game in the works. Series custodian Sean S. Cunningham had this to say: “We have some exciting new ideas for a game that supplies plenty of replay value, while delivering the kinds of thrills and scares that fans of the franchise have come to expect.” While it may not be contain “new ideas” as such, it’s still excellent news in our book. No word on the developer, format(s) or release date, but we can give an educated guess for the latter…

Now it’s time for us to feel old. Really old…
