Cliché Kills

There is a small group of French indie developers known as “Wild Factor” whom we can safely assume like nothing more than sitting down after a hard day’s coding and watching either Scream or The Cabin In The Woods. Both fine choices, but not content with just enjoying the films for what they are, the team have taken the concepts and plunged them straight into the heart of their upcoming horror management game MachiaVillain. Taking further inspiration from the likes of “Dungeon Keeper, Prison Architect and all the horror movie clichés!” a prototype was created as part of Ludum Dare, called The Villain’s Rules, which you can still play for free here - http://www.wildfactor.net/Upload/Ludumdare/WebPlayer.html

Building on this, MachiaVillain sees players design and build their own mansion, develop a hardy set of monsters, and proceed to slaughter all who happen upon the place. The catch? Well, like any good horror experience there are rules to follow, rules you will almost certainly be familiar with…

1 You must Kill them all

2 You can only Kill them when they’re alone

3 …Unless they’re having sex

4 You have to kill the virgin last

5 You can only massacre at night. Once the sun is up, you have to let the survivors leave and live (until the sequel)

6 Do not Kill the dog. Ever.

Sounds like a whole heap of blood-soaked fun to us! The game will be heading to Kickstarter shortly, but in the meantime, once you’ve finished smoking pot and having sex, why not head off alone muttering “you’ll be right back” and check out the official website for more details, the link to which is as follows:
