Liebe (Love)

On Monday we treated you to Ignacio F. Rodó’s minute-long opus TUCK ME IN. Sticking with the theme of short sharp shocks, today’s offering will take up a mere three minutes of your time. Writer/director Cameron Macgowan’s LIEBE is a love story with a (nasty) twist...

Review - Wrong Turn 6

I’m not sure which I find most astonishing – that there’s such a thing as a sixth WRONG TURN movie, or that a (tiny, perverse) part of me was actually looking forward to it. The blame for the latter lies with low-budget schlock supremo Declan O’Brien, who directed numbers three to five in the franchise, and did rather a good job of it. Don’t get me wrong, his films are as dumb as they come, but he knows exactly what his straight-to-DVD arrested-development…

If you were with us a year ago (and if you weren’t, why not?), you might have seen director John Fitzpatrick’s chilling horror short SKYPEMARE. Scary and succinct, it boasts slick production values and a brutally bloody twist. At the time it was available to view only for a limited time, but now, moved by the spirit of Halloween, Fitzpatrick has given it a permanent release. Check out the film’s website –

We try to keep our free horror gaming posts as fresh as possible, in that we may not highlight every single free to play zombie apocalypse game out there in favour of focusing on the choice examples that we feel offer something worthwhile. After all, if you’re going to be playing a vicious game of alt tab while at work, you might as well enjoy it. Which brings us to another fine free horror gaming offering just waiting for half an hour of your precious tim…

Nightmare On Your St.

Following on from our previous suggestion of spending Halloween clawing your way out of an alien creature’s stomach using only your bare hands and demented determination, we’ve another equally appealing idea for you. Why not turn out the lights, don a swanky pair of headphones and delve into your deepest, darkest nightmare? While there you’ll be able to solve genuinely interesting and well-executed puzzles, and point and click your way around some rather h…

Weird Week 160

This week isn’t the best week to be a clown. Granted, this is true most weeks of the year, but this one is particularly bad. What with the return of American Horror Story and their version of the often-feared children’s entertainer, coupled with reports of clowns assaulting folks with sex toys, clowns 'disturbing' people in the streets, and armed clowns running amok in Paris, perhaps you’d better rethink that genius circus-based Halloween costume. Read on …

The Score (66)

Have you been losing your mind with The Evil Within or running scared as Ripley’s equally unlucky daughter in Alien: Isolation? You might think there’s no room left for further delving into the realm of video game horror this week, but alas, dear reader (or readers), you’d be wrong! Look below for the choice horror gaming news from the week gone by (including zombies, killer teddy bears, the return of Alma, hungry aliens and some mobile-based bleakness). A…

The Natural Choice

October 31st is fast approaching. That sacred time of year where we all can embrace the darker side of life and indulge in practices that at any other time might raise the odd eyebrow. Perhaps you intend to re-watch a favourite horror film alongside an unsuspecting loved one, delighting in their unease. Perhaps you will be amongst friends, dressed as iconic cinematic murders whilst bobbing for apples. Or maybe you intend to knock on neighbourhood doors dem…

Review - The Possession Of Michael King

Once upon a time I couldn’t get enough possession movies. Like zombies movies (and TV shows, and comics, and video games), they were thin on the ground, and any examples that came along were to be savoured. How times have changed. Familiarity breeds contempt, and these days I approach possession movies with the same sense of impending disappointment as I do zombie movies (and TV shows, and comics, and video games). The subgenre is bursting with recent entr…

Sometimes Weird Week comes together perfectly, delivering just the right kind of spooky chills we love. This is one of those weeks. Read on, fellow lovers of the strange and unusual, for tales of nose-dwelling leeches, killer clowns, ghosts, witchcraft, Bigfoot, vampires, spiders ‘bleeding from walls’, evil black-eyed ghosts, the world’s first erotic haunted house, giant squid, and a fisherman who claims to have caught an extraterrestrial. Enjoy!
